Terrain Parks in Idaho

Posted on by phil

Hittin’ it at Lookout Pass.

Terrain Parks are a great place for the young and old and the seasoned rider or the beginner to learn new jumps, tricks and more.  Check out all these great parks at your local Ski Idaho mountains.

Brundage Mountain Resort:  Brundage Mountain Resort has two terrain parks which offer a wide selection of features to give riders the opportunity to build skills as they progress and try new tricks.  Kickback Rail Park is a new terrain park this season that will focus exclusively on box and rail features and be located at a new elevation.  With the new placement of the park the features will be built earlier in the snow season and will provide more sunshine and better photo ops for freestyle.

Grand Targhee:
Grand Targhee is a resort that has something to offer to every level of rider hosting a multitude of features from beginner to expert.  The terrain park offers: jumps, boxes, rails, vertical taps, spines, and more!

Kelly Canyon: The KC Terrain Park is a great place to have fun.  From rails to pipes to jumps to boxes, we’ve got it all!

Lookout Pass:  Lookout Pass has 3 terrain parks!  The first is The Huckleberry Jam  where you can learn the basic features.   Next hit the “natural” terrain park features in Rolling Thunder where every feature is created from trees that needed to be cut down and set on a rolling terrain with a mini valley running down the middle.  Then head to Borderline where you can hit the big features such as The Lighting Bolt, The Tear Drop and The Down C.

Lost Trail: Test your courage in LT’s premier Frontcountry park Situated on South Face, in direct view of the lodge, this park is a proving ground. Big air, big features and big egos collide… Or if powder and layed back jib lines are more your style, head to Powder Park for natural bumps and jumps.

Pebble Creek Ski Area:  Pebble Creek boasts  two groomed terrain parks with a continually changing and growing array of boxes, rails, corrugated tubes, jumps, rollers, and even an old lift tower. Rail Yard is on the upper mountain for intermediate and expert riders with 40ft jumps and challenging rails.  Aspen Park is a playground for anyone looking to have fun with jumps, rollers, and banks as well as a mini half pipe.

Pomerelle:  Pomerelle is home to two terrain parks.  Buttermilk Terrain Park is their entry level park and a great place to learn and practice on smaller features.  Colt 45 is their intermediate to advanced park with rail and jib options including two large back to back kickers.

Schweitzer Mountain Resort:  Schweitzer is happy to announce the opening of a new terrain park, Southside Progression Park.  Taking the place of Starfish Terrain Park, Soutside will be located next to The Stomping Grounds Terrain Park, where their largest features can be found. The new progression park will be larger in size, and allow for a greater number of features and will be a perfect place for those looking for medium sized features.  And then, don’t forget about the Terrain Garden where the focus is on family fun and is perfect for even the youngest riders.

Silver Mountain Resort: The Silver Mountain park has a smooth slope style flow and an assortment of rails to mix up the jump lines. Learn more…

Sun Valley Resort:  Sun Valley’s terrain parks are nothing less than world class with a 22 foot superpipe on Dollar and over 70 features in their terrain park.  Featured in numerous magazines, videos and photo shoots, Sun Valley’s pipe and park are top notch but perfect for those beginning to pros.   Click here to see pics of the pipe and park…

Tamarack Resort:  This season Tamarack will continue improving their two terrain parks with the addition of numerous hips, rails, and other features.  As well, a special park for younger and more inexperienced riders is also available in the Discovery learning area called, The Family Fun Park.  All of the rails are “Ride on” and low to the ground. The jumps are small and low risk. This a great Park to tune your skills and get ready for the No Business Terrain Park!

Terrain parks are also available at Bogus Basin and Soldier Mountain.
